Do you know a worthy volunteer who deserves recognition for their contribution to supporting people living with Parkinson’s? Why not nominate them for a Fight Parkinson's Recognition Award?

The strong supportive nature of the Fight Parkinson's community has been built on the invaluable contributions of volunteers, who offer their time, insight and experience to inspire and support others.

Our annual Recognition Awards recognise years of service and outstanding contributions to the community by individuals and groups. Awards are awarded in the following categories:


Sir Zelman Cowen Award

The Sir Zelman Cowen Award is presented to an individual in recognition of their invaluable voluntary contribution to the Parkinson’s community.

Harold Waldron Carer’s Award

This award honours a family member or friend touched by Parkinson’s who has made a significant difference to the Parkinson’s community, through voluntary leadership or support of a leader and dedication to the community.

Community Recognition Award

These awards recognise the significant contribution of an individual or an organisation to events or activities.

Five, 10 and 15 Year Service Awards

These acknowledge the continuous service of volunteers in an administrative, project or service capacity, particularly those coordinating a Peer Support Group.

Honorary Life Membership

This award recognises outstanding services for a period of at least 15 years.


Nominations for the 2023 awards close at 5pm on Thursday 26 September 2024 and should be addressed to: The Board of Fight Parkinson's, c/o info@fightparkinsons.org.au or to PO Box 239, Surrey Hills, VIC 3127.

Award recipients will be announced at the Fight Parkinson's Annual General Meeting in November 2024.
