Parkinson’s Awareness Month 2025: Celebrating the Parkinson’s community

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month and this year we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible stories from the Parkinson’s community.

Throughout the month we’ll be sharing personal stories that inspire and empower from those living with Parkinson’s, dedicated carers and supporters who have taken on fundraising challenges or organised fundraising events. These stories reflect the resilience, strength and heart of our community.

Every story we share is a testament to the courage and spirit of those impacted by Parkinson’s. Whether it’s navigating daily challenges, caring for a loved one or rallying friends and family to raise funds, each experience adds to the rich tapestry of our community. By sharing these stories and participating in our events, we hope to raise awareness, foster understanding and create a deeper sense of connection.

Your story matters too

We know there are countless stories yet to be told. If you feel inspired to share your journey, whether as a person living with Parkinson’s, a caregiver or a passionate fundraiser, we would love to hear from you. Your story could inspire hope, spark a conversation or encourage someone to get involved.

To share your story, email marketing@fightparkinsons.org.au. You can also follow us on social media to see the stories we feature throughout the month.

Connect with the community

Throughout April, we’ll also be hosting a range of events to bring people together, raise awareness and support vital research. Join us at the Parkinson’s Research Symposium on 4 April to learn about the latest advancements or take part in A Walk in the Park on 27 April to show solidarity and support. There will also be regional walks happening across Victoria and online education sessions to provide valuable insights and resources.

Help raise awareness

This Parkinson’s Awareness Month let’s come together to amplify the voices of our community. Share your story, read others’ journeys and spread the word to make an impact. Join us at our events, get involved and help us make a difference - together we can create lasting change.

If you would like to help us raise awareness of Parkinson's disease, we have designed a range of posters below, which you can click to download and print to share with others.
