Peer support group leader resources

We’re here to support you in your role as a Parkinson’s peer support group leader and offer a range of comprehensive resources for you to confidently and professionally fulfil your role.

Parkinson’s peer support groups bring together people from a range of backgrounds who share a lived experience of Parkinson’s.

These groups provide a safe and friendly environment to meet and support each other at the local community level, offering peer support, friendship, social connection and the opportunity to learn from others.

On this page, you’ll find online resources including the peer support group leader manual. This important document provides guidelines to enable you to run a successful peer support group.

We thank you for taking on the responsibility of being a peer support group leader; without you, we’d be unable to offer these valuable programs to our community. Remember, we are here to support and help you and your group in any way we can.

Questions and feedback can be directed to our team on (03) 8809 0400 or via email info@fightparkinsons.org.au.

Open 9am-5pm Mon-Fri AEST

Being diagnosed with Parkinson’s is a personal experience but no one has to face Parkinson’s alone. Support and information can make a significant and positive difference to the lives of those living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers.

Please note: Fight Parkinson’s uses the phrase Parkinson’s rather than Parkinson’s Disease to reflect the community’s preference. Parkinson’s Disease is used only when necessary such as in medical, research or government contents, or in direct quotes.
