Online Session via Zoom (map)
Thu 20th Apr 2023, 4:00pm to 5:30pm (1 day, 1 hour, 30 minutes)
The April Recently Diagnosed Seminar will focus on living with Young Onset Parkinson's (YOPD).
A diagnosis of Parkinson’s is life-changing and it’s normal to feel overwhelmed by what this means.
That's why Fight Parkinson’s Recently Diagnosed Seminars (RDS) are so important and valued by the many who have attended them.
After more than 15 years, they are a staple of our community education program.
The April RDS is designed for people diagnosed with Parkinson’s Young Onset Parkinson's (YOPD). It will include information on balancing work with Parkinson’s, managing superannuation and insurance issues, amd applying for and managing a support provided by the NDIS. This will conclude with a special personal story provided by Belinda Zipper, who is living with Young Onset Parkinson’s
RDS sessions provide a safe environment in which individuals and their families can better understand diagnosis and have their questions answered by a clinical Parkinson’s Nurse. As well as providing a unique opportunity to learn more about living with Parkinson’s, your questions will be answered and you will join together with others facing comparable changes and challenges.
This online seminar runs across two sessions on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 April from 4pm to 5.30pm. It's recommended to attend both sessions to gain the most out of all the information being presented.
These free sessions are designed for people who have been diagnosed within the past five years. Family members are also welcome to attend.
